Future City at Kharghar Hill Master Plan - Convention Center District

Role: Project Designer

With over 2,000 hotel rooms planned and a 850,000 SF multi-use convention facility, the proposed Hotel and Convention Center District inside the Future City at Kharghar Hill Master Plan is to become one of the premier facilities in South Asia to house the needs of any international congress forum or worldwide event.  The hotel components are closely tied to the film studios and indoor entertainment venues and are located next to the Festival Walk - one of the key components of the project and the gathering center of the Mumbai community.

Connected to the rest of the master plan by an elevated light rail system, the centrally located district is one of the most vibrant and technologically advanced venues that use solar and wind energies to power the building facilities.

This winning consortium entry was selected by CIDCO in early 2010.  Working in collaboration with Ajit Bhuta & Associates (India), I was the lead project designer in charge of the competition design proposal.   The Convention Center design was featured on the cover of 2011 World Architecture Congress brochure.
