Kenya Mara Safari Resort

Located near a wildebeest migration path, the first phase of the proposed Kenya Mara Safari Resort will contain 50 units, a club house and two restaurants.  Designed as a cluster of super luxury villas organically placed on a hill to maximize sightlines to the African savanna, the architectural form was inspired by the coat of arms of Kenya, which features a traditional East African shield.

The abstracted shield shaped roof overhangs the living quarters to provide sun shading and protection against the elements.  Four luxury villa prototypes were proposed including an entertainment villa module to house common living space, luxury kitchen and a dining room for family groups.  The villas are linked by balconies to provide flexible rental configurations for different size groups.
