Our Lady of Providence Hospital of Puerto Rico

Role: Project Designer

The first phase of this proposed 43,000 SF general hospital will contain a maternity ward, separate women and men‘s hospital room wings, a special clinic area for children, cafeteria, radiology department, minor and ambulatory surgery rooms, quarantine area, in addition to therapy and emergency rooms.

The proposed seaside complex will also provide apartment facilities for visiting doctors and nurses. and will feature a meditation court adjacent to a free-standing chapel.  The master plan also makes land and connectivity provisions for future expansions.  The design concept revolves around the idea of the hearth/gathering place.  This complex would function both as a hospital and also a civic place where the public gathers to organize charity drives.

The design proposal was completed in 2012 pro bono in an effort to help a Puerto Rico church raise fund to construct the project in Haiti.
